Boneprox wins the Sveapriset 2021

The SveaPrise 2021 is awarded to Boneprox, for a solution that connects dental care with healthcare, which contributes to an improvement in public health. Through AI analysis of dental X-ray images, Boneprox can identify patients at risk for systemic diseases such as osteoporosis at an early stage and thus prevent future fractures.

The SveaPrize has been awarded since 2007 and rewards the best innovation idea in eHealth. The award ceremony took place in connection with the opening of the Quality Fair at the Swedish Fair on Monday evening.

The jury's reasoning reads:

Through AI analysis of ordinary dental X-ray images, Boneprox can identify patients at risk for systemic diseases such as osteoporosis at an early stage and thus prevent future fractures. Boneprox algorithms have also shown great potential for finding patients at risk for other systemic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.

The innovation connects dental care with healthcare and opens up a natural connection between the two sectors. The method can contribute to relieving the burden on the healthcare system with the help of information from dental care and, not least, gives it increased conditions for better health through early diagnosis.
